George Andrew Nasmyth Langlands RSW (1865-1940)
Lovely small oil in original water gilded frame. Dated 1886. River Tweed. 
Native of the Stow district of Midlothian. Painter in oil and water colour, landscape & portraits. Studied Edinburgh College of Art & Antwerp. Particularly fond of painting banks of rivers and small villages.
Spent much time sketching on east coast of Scotland & Highlands;  occasionally Belgium & Holland. Spent most of his life in Edinburgh.
Elected RSW 1896. 
Exhibited RA(6), RSA(88), RSW(113), GI(35), L(4) & AAS.
